Brand Identity: Elements of Branding(Brand Colors)-Part Three

BLOG-BANNERS-3 Brand Identity: Elements of Branding  (Brand Colors)

The brand name has been created and now it would seem that next piece would be the logo. But before a logo can be created we have to  get a consistent look for the business or company through the use of colors. Every brand uses colors to represent themselves. Each color being used has a particular meaning behind it. It is best to do some research on the meanings behind colors. An article from Creative Bloq, “How to choose a color scheme for your logo design, breaks down the meanings behind color choices. Yes I know it says “logo design” in the title but look pass that. When you understand why businesses or companies use certain colors, you can began to understand their reasoning. Their reasoning is that the color choice(s) fits the overall appeal of what is being provided. Understanding color can go even further in what is known as “Color Theory”. Anyone who is in a creative field like graphic design, painting, photography, home decorating, web design and so on use color theory to create something that is memorable and engaging.  The one thing to keep in mind is that not all  colors used here in the United States do not work or translate the same in other countries. If the wrong colors are used, the wrong connotation for your business is portrayed.  You don’t want this to happen. My advice to you is choose your colors wisely and use them effectively. Make sure the color choices for your business or company are relevant to your target audience. “Your brand. Your identity. Your uniqueness.”
